Indian ICCR Postgraduate (Masters) Scholarships under Moulana Azad Scholarship/Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme – 2024/25
Invitation for Applications from Eligible Sri Lankans for 60 Postgraduate (Masters) Scholarships
01. General Eligibility Requirements:
(a) All applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
(b) Age limit should be between 18-40 years by the deadline of 25.02.2024.
(c) Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of study from a recognized university, as certified by the University Grants Commission, Sri Lanka. (The degree should be completed by the deadline of 25.02.2024).
(d) Government sector employees should submit their applications through the Head of the Institute.

- Students applying for Engineering/Science streams can only apply for one scheme, either Moulana Azad Scholarship Scheme or Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme.
- The ICCR scholarship council does not facilitate admission in Medical/Paramedical (Nursing/Physiotherapy/Anesthesia etc.), Fashion Design, or Law.

04. Terms of Award:
The scholarship schemes cover full tuition fees, monthly sustenance allowance, an annual grant for books and stationary, airfare to the nearest destination in India, an annual grant for educational tours, and several other auxiliary benefits. Selected candidates will also be provided with hostel facilities on the respective campuses.
05. Special Notes:
a) Award conditions in this notification may vary as per the criteria imposed by Indian authorities without prior notice. b) Scholarship recipients must select Higher Educational institutes recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. c) Students declining the offer after the selection process will not be considered for any scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education. d) Candidates already nominated for a Ministry of Education scholarship will not be considered for the same level of study under this scholarship scheme. e) Extension of the scholarship period will not be recommended by the Ministry.
06. Applications:
a) Online applications are available at: https://foreignscholarships.mohe.gov.lk/ b) The deadline for application submission is 25th February 2024. c) Applicants should submit only one online application; postal submissions are not required. d) Applications from permanent government sector employees, University employees, or state Corporation employees will only be considered if channeled through the Head of the Institution. e) Any incorrect/false statements in the application may lead to disqualification at any time and withdrawal of the award. Incomplete or late applications will be rejected.
07. Nominations & Selections:
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka, on short notice.
- Nominations will be forwarded to the Indian ICCR scholarship awarding authority through the High Commission of India. Nomination does not confirm the award.
- Any form of canvassing, either written or verbal, will be considered as a disqualification.
